Losing Hope ?

Turkish election was underway this weekend. Frankly speaking, though I dont want to be keen on politics, I cant refrain from discussing it.
After the election , the foreign media considered the matter as a battle between religion and secularism. To me , the reality is rather different . Turkey has done a great headway as regards to economics and politics. The government paved the way to EU , though it seems to become unsuccessful , by incessant reforms.
Therefore ,most of Turkish citizens has voted for economic and political stability , not for religious concerns. Watching giant media corporations such as BBC and CNN, I cant understand why they dwell on this so-called clash between religion and politics this much. I think, Turkey has already embraced and internalized secularism and there is no way out of it. However ,it seems we have a long road ahead of us in terms of democracy.
As for the picture , I dont know where it is taken or who is the boy. I just found it on internet but I think it has much to do than just being a picture. Does it symbolize the prospect of future for our next generations ? Let's wait and see, hopefully, if the new goverment carries on paving Turkey's future and make this child smile a bit ...
